2023 Cedarburg Plein Air Festival- After a weekend of painting outdoors, artists were invited to set up their easels with their recently completed paintings for public viewing and purchasing.
Lauren's Art Journey
I come from Springfield, Illinois, where my love for art was sparked at the Springfield Art Association. It all began with drawing and painting classes that nurtured my passion during my earlier years. As I progressed through college, I delved into various drawing and anatomy courses, honing my skills in shading and portraiture along the way.
Upon moving to Mequon, Wisconsin, a charming northern suburb of Milwaukee, I delved into oil painting classes. My focus shifted towards landscapes and plein air painting, allowing me to explore and express myself in new ways.
Despite the busyness of life, which includes volunteering, tending to my garden, and indulging in reading, I always find peace and joy in painting during those fleeting moments of leisure. It's a wonderful escape, especially when shared with my supportive husband and my sweet 4-year-old border collie mix.
